The Zodiac Club #4: New Moon in June
Toight's New Moon in Gemini offers an opportunity to refresh how you communicate or how you present yourself to the world.

Each month, the New Moon offers an opportunity to start over. It’s a fresh start, a clean slate. It’s prime energy for new beginnings, for starting new projects and planting fresh seeds. This also makes it a fruitful energy for surveying your life, assessing what’s working and humbly thanking things for their service and letting them to go, to paraphrase Marie Kondo.
This month’s New Moon is happening in Gemini, ruler of the 3rd house and ruled over by Mercury. It’s the sign of communication and ideas, of writing and speech, concepts and ideas. This doesn’t just pertain to words you speak out loud. It also covers self-talk, your inner monologue and how it shapes your worldview.
As the ruler of the 3rd House, Gemini also pertains to your immediate surroundings and how you situate yourself in them. If Taurus and the 2nd House are the home and infancy, Gemini and the 3rd House are toddlerhood and what lies outside your front door. Gemini and the 3rd House also have to deal with your public persona, how you present yourself and how others see you. (Think of shapeshifters like David Bowie as an example.)
For this New Moon in Gemini, set your intentions on how you’d like your speech and communication to impact your life and the world around you. Investigate your ideas and conceptions around yourself and see if you’re limiting or holding yourself back in any way. It’s also the perfect time to begin any project that deals with communication in any way. It’s the perfect time to start that book, poetry, or short story collection that’s been keeping you up at night.
Job hunting? Write that cover letter. Wanting to tell someone you like them? Pick up a pen. You just might find the perfect words.
It’s an auspicious time for changing your self-presentation, too. Thinking of switching up your style? Get a fresh cut or dye job. Buy that cute sundress you’ve been on the fence about. Get a tattoo. Paint your nails.
As for myself, i must be brief. As a Gemini Rising with a Triple Air sign, i’m way ahead of the curve on this one. I got accepted to cover this year’s Portland Horror Film Festival for Offscreen Magazine, so i must away. Expect to hear more about that!
